The Ripple Effect - Calgary Current is a unique water education and outreach initiative under the United Nations Association in Canada (UNA-C). Members of the Calgary Current are selected from schools across Calgary ranging in ages from 14-21.
In collaboration with the Calgary Branch of UNA-Canada, The Ripple Effect - Calgary Current builds capacity, critical thinking skills and knowledge of challenges and solutions to local and global water issues. This group of youth creates strategies to engage the public and their peers on water issues in Calgary and Alberta employing a rights-based approach. They learn about responsible advocacy and use this knowledge towards local watershed stewardship. The Ripple Effect - Calgary Current reaches over 10,000 youth and community members annually.
