For Youth:

* Do you care about social justice, the environment, and your watershed?
* Do you want to be part of a group that connects with over 1,000 Calgarians annually on topics like water conservation & education?

Then you may be interested in joining UNA-Canada's program The  Ripple Effect - Calgary Current.

Membership with the Ripple Effect - Calgary Current is meant to be developmental; individuals should both contribute to the program and benefit from involvement.

 For Educators & Community Partners:

The Ripple Effect - Calgary Current is a dynamic and unique water education and outreach team. Comprised of youth from around Calgary, this group of young water advocates uses their knowledge and passion for local and global water issues to educate and promote responsible watershed stewardship.


In this unique peer-to-peer education model The Ripple Effect - Calgary Current offers
  1. Classroom presentations targeted at Grades 4 and Jr High students on topics of The Bow River Basin watershed, Alberta's current water situation within the context of global water issues, and locally-appropriate conservation strategies;
  2. Display booths with visual and interactive activities for all ages;
  3. Community presentations where the youth provide their perspectives on local water issues and what needs to be done for today and tomorrow; 
  4. Action days for youth and the general public to get involved in a meaningful way, contributing to the conservation and education of our water systems.
